"The work of Championship Hearts Foundation in health screening of young athlete's and in educating the general public about heart disease is vital and important. I am a heart patient. I serve in this organization because I appreciate the work it does in the Austin area and I want to see it grow and expand it's efforts."

Ben Morgan is a retired banker who has served on the Championship Hearts Foundation board since 2000. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1958 with a degree in Banking and Finance and from The Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in 1962. He was president of First State Bank in Austin for 28 years and Vice Chairman of Wells Fargo Bank where he retired in 1999.

He has served on the boards of several community and professional organizations including the American Cancer Society,Child and Family Services, March of Dimes, Texas Association of Business,Texas Bankers Association, Texas Independent Bank and American Bankers Associaion advisory board. He currently serves on the Boards of the Heart Foundation, the Austin Symphony Orchestra Society and International Cooperatives Inc.(Catholic Charity), Director of First State Bank of Central Texas.

His interests include: family, world travel, fly fishing, hiking, reading a good book and spending part of the year at his home in Sun Valley, Idaho.
