Dr. Rodgers graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University and UT Southwestern Medical School as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency training at UT Southwestern and cardiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Rodgers is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and the subspecialty of Cardiovascular Disease, and has been in private practice in Austin since 1989. He has served on numerous regional and national committees on cardiovascular disease, and as principal investigator for numerous research projects has published more than 40 articles in medical journals. Dr. Rodgers is currently the president of the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology. In his role as president of both the Austin Heart cardiology group and the Austin Heart Foundation, Dr. Rodgers has become a noted authority in providing cardiovascular care and information to residents of central Texas. He has also served as medical director for the Heart Hospital of Austin, recognized as one of the nation's top facilities for cardiovascular care.
